I think you are missing a A from the word. it has several ways to use it. Statists, stats for baseball, term of how many hits to how many at bats. In business may be how many time something is used, looked at, or questioned. It could be how much time is spent on doing something, watchng something, or driving something. It just compares one thing to another. Hope this helps.
