sorry cant help you,what i dont understand is why a poor family would want to add to their financial problems by taking on a large dog.Its not just food bills its vet bills too.Before he was a year old my dog ran me up a pretty steep vet bill.I remember telling him at the time,i couldve bought 3 German Shepherds for what he cost me!!!Putting him down was NOT an option for me but bear it in mind before you take on any animal.Sorry if i sound hard,i dont mean to.Think about it

A poor family (I'm guessing already on welfare) can not afford a pet. They would be looking at at least $1,500.00 in vet bills alone (this includes neutering fees, if they get a female, spaying is more expensive) the first year and then there's the cost of food, toys, collar/harness, leash, this all adds up. They can expect this "free" puppy to cost them $2,000.00 the first year. I hope this poor family is at least getting the free condoms and discounted birth control pills to keep from adding to the child count in the house.
