    2002 3.0 FORD RANGER AUTO MATIC XLT.IT ONLY DOES THIS SOMETIMES.

      You bet sounds like it to me . this is not expensive or at least not too bad.When the tranny moves it causes binding in the linkage making it shift badly. Put emergency brake on car in drive step on brake and lightly on gas the engine torque should raise the transmission releaseing the gas should set it back down again with a audiable CLUNK .This is your proof ,mount is broken .

        Yes, this could make the tranny shift hard. Make sure your tranny fluid is full.
