      Today, 9/4/11, it's about $1,883 per ounce.

        Normally you will get a better price if you sell the gold to the shop where you bought it.

          You will not get the going rate for gold right now. The person you sell to will need to make a profit too. Shop around and get the best price you can. Start with jewelers who buy gold or go on line for reputable gold dealers. DO NOT go to pawn shops.

            As of March 16, 2011, one ounce is  $1,401.50. The price changes daily.
