Hi sally If your cat is a kitten there are vacination against this, it only will provide immunity against one or several diseses buts its worth talking to your Vet on this but if your cat has been diagnosed with this diseses  Your vet will be able to tell you the best way in treating it though I have to say there is no cure for it but the Vet will make your cat more comfortable un till the end I am sorry if your cat has this and I feel for you

This disease is caused by a retrovirus similar to the ones that cause Immunodeficiency disease or human Aids.. Feline Leukemia occurs  mostly in cats aged one to five years. It affects males and females equally, but occurs most often in neutered animals.. The Virus is spread from one cat to another through bodyfluids(saliva, urine, blood, feces, sharing waterbowls). Most common symtoms  are weightloss, dehydration and fever..Your Vet has a treatment plan for your cat. Please take her immediately!
