    my dryer spins but does not heat

    Make sure you have the temp setting for some kind of heat!  Air-fluff doesn't provide heat.


    If that doesn't work, your heating element probably needs repair.  Bummer.  

    Check the filter on the door.make sure it isn't clogged with fluff.This can cause under heating.If that is clear it is probably the element.

    If it is an electric dryer it runs on 220 volts. If one leg of the line has thrown a circuit breaker you would have only 110 volts, which might let it spin but not heat. As Bob says, it could also be the heating element.
