Welcome back Colleen. Glad to hear everything is okay. I bought two paqrakeets a few years ago. The sign on the cage said parakeets can learn to talk. I never was able to teach either bird. Have you ever seen a talking parakeet?

My mother had a talking parakeet. He could only 3 words though. Hello, cracker and I can not remember the 3rd word. It's rare but some males do talk.
