Like water intelligence seeks its own level. Too many from other lands too many cultures trying to blend. No common ground with experiences . No reason to do well in school or even to finish it when sports figures and rap stars are the role models . Watch any NFL interview and you will realise that a moron who cant say "would you like fries with that" is payed multiple millions a year. Why waste time with school is the norm . Teachers are payed like fast food workers and get the same respect. Sad path we are on this country .

Who wants to be intelligent every day? That's hard work! Besides, if you only came across smart people during the course of the day, you would have no one to yell at or laugh at or talk about. Your day would be totally boring!
