he/she is big enough to clean his room (not very well) make his/her bed, wash some dishes, take out the trash, and feed the pets. Not all in the same day! This child is in training, so train him/her.Some children are more mature, they can handle more responsibility.

People have forgotten to give kids chores, they let the TV baby sit. Every week my dad, retired Navy, made us read a book. We had to give him and oral report. It not only taught us to read, but love to read. This was a listed chore, he posted on the frig every week.
