WE DON'T THINK WE ARE RIGHT, WE KNOW IT !!!!!!!!!!

    doublehelix

i agree with you sammy :)

    leeroy

@Sammy666,it seems like you are asking a very stereotypical type of question, maybe you could forgive them for whatever discomfort they have caused you?
I know I don't have to explain to you that there is good and bad in every grouping of people you could corral.

If you read some of the answers, the Christians that have answered seem to believe that they are not right all time, so maybe you could cut the entire group some slack? Let me apologize to you personally from all who have gotten on your nerves, SORRY SAMMY! Hope you can forgive them. To error is human, but to forgive, is divine.

    leeroy

Thank you so much hipster, I try to do my best to research both sides of the discussion, but I can't help being biased towards my beliefs.

    ole hipster

As always leeroy you speak the truth!

    sammy66

apparently they have all the answers and are right all the time NOT LOL.

I'm a Christian and to be honest I'm not right all the time. I'm human and we are all prone to making mistakes.

@Rushie54 - Although we all are made in the image of God. Christians make mistakes like all people.

    TU!!!

I don't know any christians who are right all the time. Only God is perfect and when He walked on this earth as a human He was the only perfect person ever. This is why we place our trust in Jesus.

    IluvJesus

So true,Jesus died for our sins because of our imperfections,we are human,we make mistakes daily.TU

If there were such a place as the hell fire like that of Dantes inferno that would make God less wise than humans and more cruel that the Devil.

If you owned a rabid dog would you burn it on the fire while it was still concious?
A humane person would have it put to sleep as quietly and humanly as possible.

If your child was disobedient would you punish it by holding its hand in the flames?
Of course you wouldn't! You would find yourself up in court very quickly is you did.

Never-the-less this is what false religious teachers of Christendom particularly trinitarian inquisitors have taught the people down through the centuries in order to hold power over people.
Hence Jesus said 'The truth will set you free.'

This is what the bible teaches

(2 Corinthians 11:13-15) . . .For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works.

Does this clarify the issue Mr Mitchell?

or have you another frivolous complaint?

Do you realize that millions of sincere people called humanists who are unable to believe in the God of the Salvation or his anointed (Christ) because of Hell fire preachers and trinitarians?

Why does everyone, without discrimination, think they are always right all the time? I believe in the Bible, but not institutional religion. There are several hundred Christian denominations in the US, because we (believer's) have our own opinions. So I agree with you in one respect, but it goes a lot further then to stereotype Christians as if you don't have your own strong opinions.

yes thats maybe true but we are not all christians on here, one example being if were not a beliver then were all going to hell in their opinion what a load of old tosh!

I know Sammy. Don't let it bother you so much. You know your truths, that's all that matters. Grit is right. Their bible has taught them to use bully tactics. That's what threats of hell are. Their church leaders use it on them so they in turn use it on others. It's not right but they think it is because the bible tells them so.

It's important to know what God really said, not what men claim he said.

    Laurie Bean

IT'S NOT IMPORTANT WHAT WE SAY...IT'S IMPORTANT WHAT GOD SAYS!!!

    doublehelix

    well said colleen. :)

    sammy66

i cant help but get annoyed with these christians they are so bloody patronising and up their own ARSE!but thanks colleen for your comment much appreciated

Because the bible tells them so ; )

Becuase we are..... LOL .... just kidding! I am never right about anything just ask my kids.

I am a Christian. Many times I have been wrong. I make loads of mistakes. I blunder thriugh life and I regret a lot of thing I have said. The thing is I am human. If I knew everything I would be God. I base my faith on a simple passage from Gods Word. Jesus said. ' You must be born again' Thats what I am and all the arguments on this site dont mean a thing unless we all do what Jesus tell us.

EVERYone thinks they are right, all of the time.. not just christians?

Logic dictates that with so many thousands of different sects contradicting each other there is even more error among what is called popular Christianity than there is in the religions viewed as pagan.
I as brought up with 3 different sects of 'Born again' Christians and while I got a training of sorts
They were all a bit bible punchy and they thought they were doing Gods work. But as it turned out not only was their stiff starchy attitude was off putting but they could not show me where to get the answers I was looking for. There is a scripture that you may like to consider:

(Psalm 146:3-4) . . .Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. 4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that very day his thoughts do perish.

So if anyone tries to frighten you with a story about hell being a place of fiery torment you can tell them with authority that it is not true. The fiery hell in the bible is symbolic and not literal.

    Hope this helps

    Mitchell

It doesn't you are picking and choosing. There are many, here is just one example of hell. Of course your Bible may say something contrary.

Matthew 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

    Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Matthew 13:42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

    Mitchell

So does Peter also speak in parables?

2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

God is no fiend. He has given clear warning of the wages of sin. He has given a clear path to His gift of forgiveness and eternal life. He has given Himself in the person of His Son, in whom you deny His divinity, His equality with God not by robbery, He just is.

    bestway

Did you not hear? Jesus spoke in Parables or illustrations. If the fire was literal it would make a God of love out to be a fiend. The gnashing of teeth comes when the false christians realize their pretentions to be true Christians are not accepted by the Christ.

    bestway

Peter is not talking about the God dishonouring doctrine of hell fire and eternal torment. This is a different case.
He is giving clear warning that he will destroy those HE considers to be wicked paticularly those who sin agains the spirit by misapplying scripture and who falsely accuse true Christians of sins they have not committed. This judgement comes as a thief in the night, swiftly and humanly.

'The wages of sin is death.' NOT HELL FIRE!

Believe it or not i dont think most christians are intolerant thou there are a few.Plus you wrote an answer instead of quoting scripture which is a relief.I think its simply christians have to make that leap of faith at somepoint cos faith is believeing what cant be proven. To have made that step must mean you personally invest a lot in your beliefs where as,speaking for myself,it requires little investment to maintain my point of view.I've never felt god, never seen him in anything around me even when l was badly lost plus the volume of supporting science for evolution favours my absence of belief.Where the tensions lie with some believers is they assume we destroy belief.I never had any to destroy even singing hyms at school age 5 i didnt believe it.It's not a negative opposing a positive but a neutral stance i have

Im a Christian and I don't know crap.

As a Christian, I have very little tolerance for those who wag their forefinger at those who they may disagree with. I have friends from all strips, including an agnostic or two. Being intolerent is not the true Christian path. Anytning but!

Jesus expressed love towards all during His 33 years on earth, and still does through His living spirit. He is judge and jury - not man and that certainly includes His followers.

I'm sorry so many consider Christians intolerent. My apology to all. Christians should embody a voice of love and friendship.

    God bless.

    Laurie Bean

a TRUE Christian doesn't need to apologize

    PEOPLELOVER

Mat, thanks for your message of apology for your fellow so called christians pity they do not have the gumption to apologise for them selves. Question, can you explain why you say Jesus is judge & jury when others say God?

    doublehelix

    god bless :)

    Stop thinking and start learning

1 - if you see a man fishing in a dried up river bed
2 - it is easier to walk past & compliment him on his catch

It is a real shame that some people claim to be Christians but their actions do not demonstrate that of Christ and they go public claiming their views or actions are based on Christanity. We are all short of being as Christ was on earth. However when people misuse their faith to take advantage of other people this is absolutely wrong.

David Cameron's last sentence at the press conference explains it all. What is being done he claims is in the INTEREST OF THE NATION. Nothing to do with Christianity!!! And the Good Samaritan approach.
