    need to know if i shoot a person in my home while they are trying to rob or hurt me. will they be able to sue me for hurting them in state of ohio

      Read about the CASTLE DOCTRINE, which is in force in your state. It appears that you may indeed use deadly force to protect you  and yours within your home. Check with an attorney to be sure.
