How did Irene affect you personally or someone you know?

I was very lucky here in NH. Flashfloods and high  wind gusts. My cellar is a little moist, no trees down and no power outage but branches everywhere. God listened to my prayers and all your prayers and I want to thank all of you for praying for everyone who was affected by Irene. Many were not so lucky and many lost theire lives.

when I was a kid, we lost one home, a car, and a barn, in 3 different hurricanes. Losing the house was bad, that hurt. My mom was smart, she took our photo's and important papers when she left. The house was destroyed and it flooded on top of it, we couldn't save anything. I was a small child, I don't remember to much. I remember the seeing the house, the aftermath is a bit foggy.

I hate it! The hurricane before this one suck a 2 year old out of her home. They looked for days.We plan on moving. I want to go back up north. I'm tired of dodging trees.

Sorry you have been through so much. Its hard to say where you are safe these days. Look at Vermont. That state is devastated by flooding. But I dont blame you for trying to move to a safer place.

My older son in CT.,a Neighbors tree came down and totalled his shed with lawnmower and equipment in it. He had no power outage. My younger  son in Glastonbury CT still does not have power. I thank God they are all OK.

I'm here in NC, 45 minutes from the beach, it got  ugly, but we made it. The city was a black out. No one had electric. Thank God I'm a camper!

I am glad you are OK. The wind was alot stronger in NC. than it was in NH. The howling of the wind was pretty scary.

Strange how nature works.  Flooding there . Record heatwave and drought here in west texas. Now round two east coast. I really hope not. It looks bad.

Terrible draught and even fires. I pray for all of you in Texas. Animals are probably dying and I pray for them too. I hope this hurricane does not hit the east coast again. Mother Nature is fighting for its survival.

Irene is not nothing compared to whats about to happen.!!!!

I hope and pray you are wrong. Our country cant afford more disasters.

    Thank You!

Thank You! it damaged some places in town, but we live in a low level house on high ground. Someone knew what they were doing.

Get many of these storms up there? We get several a year. This is our 3rd  this summer.

No, we dont get many storms where I live. Irene was the first. I cant imagine living in the south with all the tornados and hurricanes.
