I'm 66 years old. Do I take my Gross Income of approx 31000 less persomal allowance of £9490 = £21510 as my income for tax purposes. If that is the case I wouldn't lose any of my allowance, is that correct?

At 66 you are entitled to tell all the youngsters in the Tax Office to shove their forms up where the sun don't shine.

You have very little as it is. To pursue you through the courts to recover any pennies of tax that you haven't paid would make them a laughing stock.

Just stop sending the Tax Return in. Ignore them. Forget about Tax.  Get on with the remaining years in the knowledge that you have done your part, paying taxes all your life, while half the darn population has been taking your money via welfare cheques and spending it. Stick two fingers up.

If pressed, send them a short letter saying, "Rearrange the following to make a well known phrase or saying - "Off Sod"  ".
