Sunflowers
Sunflowers are a well-known and popular late-summer flower and food crop. A number of sunflower species are native to Michigan. These include the woodland sunflower, prairie sunflower and the pale-leaved sunflower. Plant sunflowers in early June and in full sun to partial shade.

I love sunflowers! I plant some every year! Once you do that you will have sunflowers forever! Just save a couple of heads every year! Birds will also throw out seeds here and there! (bird poop) We call those volunteers! Just throw a few seeds out where you want them in the next summer. BTW don't use the seeds in a pack of snacks
