Muslims do not believe Jesus died on the cross but that someone was substituted for him ( Sura 4:157) ' They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him'. This doctrine is taught by the Ahmadiyya sect who believe that Jesus survived crucifiction and lived to teach again outside Israel.
I don't suppose we will know the truth until Jesus returns which some believe will be 27 May 2012
