Venus spins in retrograde. Might be because it spins so slowly on it's axis. Other planets spin counterclockwise and rotate counterclockwise. Venus moves around sun counterclockwise and may appear to rotate in retrograde because it spins so slowly. When it is moving around sun and then rotates very slowly it appears to rotate the other way. One day on Venus is 243 days.
