Pyracantha is a beautiful bush and it grows full and tall. It is an evergreen and has beautiful red or orange berries from mid fall until the birds eat them or spring rots them. They grow very thick with large limbs that intertwine well. The stickers are a deterrent to humans definitely, but to cats and dogs I am not so sure. A good way to keep neighborhood pets out of your yard is to buy an electronic deterrent that you can plug into an outlet and it emits signals that keep domestic and some wild critters away. You can look it up on your computer, look in the mail order magazines you probably get quite often, or wait for the TV ad and call the number to order one. If you don't get a mail order magazine, type it into your address bar and many will come up to pick from.
