How often should I be watering my cactus-it hasn't rained in weeks and weeks

They are desert plants. I had some cactus growing in my front yard in SC while we went through a 7 year drought--very little rain and never did water it. If it starts to shrivel up, it might be beneficial to give it a spritz. If it is still blooming when it should, I'd leave it alone.
