      Network interface card is probably what you're looking for. There are other things it stands for but I am guessing this is what you are looking for.

        A NIC provides the hardware interface between a Computer and a network. A NIC technically is network adaptor hardware in the form factor of an add-in card such as PCI or PCMCIA card.
