It may not be the doctors. It could be the insurance company denying the meds.

There are people who would have to spend their lives in bed if they were not offered the correct medication. (I do not have Cancer) After a lot of MRI's and x-rays, the doctors finally granted me some relief from pain. But still ... some pharmacists look at me and roll their eyes. My pain is invisible.
Vinny: DEATH PANELS! That is scary.
I wonder if the DEATH PANEL doctors provide a black pill for those who do not fit in to their SHALL LIVE requirements?

Many doctors don't believe in pain meds. They usually are ok with pain meds for Cancer patients. Opiods (pain meds) are watched like a hawk by the DEA. I have pain from a neck and back injury and my doctor has been pretty good about treating my pain. ('m in CA) If you are still wondering about this issue, please post back. (I know it's been TWO years) It is illegal for doctors to not treat patients who have pain. Best, Rosescantina

In California, Hospice provides an easy out for those who have a short time to live. In Oregon you can apply and get treated quite humanely also. These services provide death with dignity to those patients who request this treatment when their conditional is terminal.
