You're experiencing HD problems. Manually set your ipod into Disk mode (see instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363?viewlocale=en_US). Then when iTunes is open connect the iPod to the computer and restore it. Your iPod will be wiped clean. You could then upload everything again from iTunes to your ipod.
If it doesn't work, take it to an Apple lab nearest you.
