    Deduction has at least a couple of meanings.  You can have a deduction in your pay, which means you will be earning LESS.  A deduction could also be a conclusion drawn after considering a body of evidence.  One has deduct as root, the other deduce.


    Induction (to the Baseball Hall of Fame, for example) means to be added to the group.  One can be inducted into the army, or other military branch.  Formally entered into or allowed to enter or added to the "roster".


    Induction could also be a forced thing.  The labor for my third son was induced....I was given an IV with a chemical that caused my body to begin the labor and birthin process.  Induce is root.
