Jambo helena, here is what I think..
1. education. more male get education than females especially in rural areas.
2. male domination to an extent
3 unequal job opportunies. and more.
The govt. should step in to help and other countries and UN should put pressure on govt to intervene and provide better access to women for good jobs etc.
