2006 turned off motor now battery clicks but will not start. What could be problem?

Check the connection. It might be loose or corroded--if lots of white powder, scrub it with an old toothbrush and tap it with a wrench. If not, may need a new battery--they die after a time. If not a dead battery, may be the starter. If it's not the battery, get a professional to check it since it will take a mechanic to fix it.
