    Without blaming the economy, how can a man with 12 years of cust. service experience be unable to find a job?

    I really don't know but I'll share some ideas.  Maybe you're applying for positions that are not in line with the experience you have. Maybe your credit score has gotten lower--they are very much used by employers. Maybe someone has put a black mark on your name and this is following you. You can't know that it's there but employers and others who use computers know. Maybe employers feel you're not worth hiring because you'll be retiring before they think it would pay off to train you--the cost they spend to hire you and train you is more than the value you would provide their company. People are cold when it comes to money.
