    can I do any damage to a TV if I run a 15 volt 4.2 amp converter instaed of the recommended 12volt 4amp converter?

    Simple answer, you have the wrong converter. Never take chances when a device calls for a recommended volt and amp, best to stick with it.  Sometimes you can get away with it but why take the risk at the cost of your TV repair or replacement.  just get the right converter.
