You mean Writing a resume, I'm sure.
Young adults are always thinking about themselves and making a good impression.  I would start with having them write a list of their talents, just a couple of words, i.e.: video games.  Then, have them makes a list of challenges, again just a couple of words, i.e.: keeping my room clean.
Have them write an introductory paragraph about themselves, including birthday, parents' names, siblings, where they've attended schools, their friends, and activities they've participated in.  (T-ball, preschool, holiday programs, 4-H, etc.)
Keep them working on autobiographical topics, short paragraphs or lists.  Favorite foods, sports teams, athletes, musicians, jobs, classes, awards and honors, etc. etc. etc.  Stress they try to keep things chronological, when appropriate.  (They can take a piece of paper and fold it into quarters, put an "age" heading, and start listing to help with organizing for their final submission.
Don't forget to have the "negative" list. Things they don't like, failures and disappointments, opportunities missed, and such.  Life isn't all good stuff, and if the students can get a handle on where they've struggled, failed, or been disinterested, it can be an eye opener for future challenges.  It will be a little different from their challenges list.
Have them write their own "I have a dream" paragraph, with aspirations for their futures, including travel, career ambition, where they want to go to college/trade school.  Do they want to own a home and where, what kind of vehicle they want, how many kids and what they'd name them....just an ideal picture for their lives.
Keep picking assignments and provide opportunities for illustrations with colored pencils, or watercolors, felt pens, chalk, pen, charcoal, crayons....let them get creative artistically, too.  It's just more fun and something most of them probably don't get enough opportunity to do.

At some point, you can have them organize all their essays and lists and art into an autobiography.  Now they have something to remind them of "where they were" at 17-18, a nice little something to share with their family when someone wants to know "What were YOU like when you were a kid?".  If you can provide a "hard" cover and back for their books and have them laminated and/or bound, it will be something to treasure.

NOW, provide the outline for a resume, and have the students use their autobiographies to fill in the information.  With a little guidance and class discussion, each student should be able to put together something that will be complete and functional.  Of course, stress the importance of those abilities that are generic to a resume, specific to a resume for administrative support or computer wiz, mechanic, etc.

This sounds like a lot of work and time, but if my sons had done something like this, it may have provided them with some good insights into themselves and helped them direct their post high school activities more productively.  Same goes for me!
