It happened with my dad.He had enough clarity to pass instructions on to my mum about who he wanted to have what & told me about the ocean voyage from Scotland to Australia & the stopovers in London & New York. That was nearly 40 years ago now. I realized then despite all of the abuse he dished out in his own way he loved us all. Be at peace when it comes Jenn.I'm sure your dad will be.

This just occured with a family member of mine. I don't want to go into details but  this same thing  you described did happen.

Hi Jenn I am afraid it does, all I can say is make the most of his time that you both have left and I am sure you are doing this, I wasnt going to answer this because I am a coward when it come this sort of question, and it all brings it back when I lost My Dad I have tears in my eyes for you  Jenn but be strong, your  Dad knows he hasnt long but be strong as I know again you are being strong My Heart is with you and your Family and of course my preyers god bless you all

I'm sorry your Dad is so ill Jenn.  I notice what you have described.  It does give one false hope but also be assured that the last few days, hours, or  minutes of lucidity were great for that person.  Regards/Yvonne

Both my father and grandfather did. I think you're right in thinking it's the last look at this world for them. (((hugs)))

I think this is Gods way of allowing our loved ones to have a last chance to say what is needed to heal or give some better last memories if that's possible. I know he is not your biological dad but you don't need the family genes to be a father. My heart goes out to you and family, this has been a long process. Thanks for bringing us all in for support. Recently saw your question Jenn....I haven't been around daily as of late...I'll tell you from my experiences; I've been with both my mother and father who were dying (different years for them) and also with my best friend ,when living in Florida, and I can tell you from expereince that all three of them sort of "rallied around" I suppose one could say, very near the end, and it is actually a wonderful time to be there , as like everyone has pretty much mentioned, you can really say your goodbyes and whatever else that may need to be said.....stay strong for your Mom and family...they'll all need you and I believe y ou are a strong person.......(:

Jenn! again it is hard for you to go threw this pain & hurt,but were all in this fight living and dying ,soon it will be us sitting on death row,my heart cry out for the pain your going threw but you will be stronger after ward,may God give you strength to hold on and be a better fighter.My regard to your DAD & You with all the BLESSING.
