      Honesty is the best policy and that way he'll know your not blowing him off. I'm sure that being a man, he's had a few women in his life, and darlin, we all have that monthly issue, I'm sure he won't go heading for the hills;)

          Just go and enjoy the weekend. Your partner will understand. especially in a  new relationship. If your partner is a guy, as i guess it is, he should understand. You can have a good time without being that close. If / when things start heating up thats the time to explain your feelings .
