      Vinegar will keep ants away in the house. Just wipe the area with white vinegar on a damp cloth. Keep doing it until they are gone. I don't know if it works outside.

        If you can see their ant trail, put a bait station in line with it, so they won't miss it.  Bait them with a mix of sugar and powder.  The sugar attracts them, the powder is an abrasive which cuts them up when they walk through it.   Since they will then carry it back to the nest on their body, you will actually kill many more.

          Buy bigger ants. If they are outside use boiling water.
