    should we abolish the electoral college and require that candidates for federal and state offices win a majority of votes to be elected to office

    Yes! The electoral college is completely outdated. There is not rational use for it anymore and has't been since cars were created making travel to polling stations easier and attainable. We also need to require proof of citizenship at every polling station. No vote if you can not prove you are a US citizen!
