Seriouly, they used to call extremely limber people- - - -' ' - double --jointed ' ' , but there's really no such thing as a person being double jointed

From medical view point, been double jointed is also known as having Hypermobility. Double jointed people are not over extending their joints, but are rather allowing them to function to their fullest capability . It just so hppens that this capability is beyound the typical persons ability for movement.
