      There's  your concious memories, and in a  ' ' save folder ' ' , there's a whole bunch of other memories. . . . .some of which, you'd like to forget.

        It depends entirely on the type of memory...different types of memory are stored in different parts of the brain. In school learning from books the data is stored in the Hippocampus. Please ask your question more specifically.
