    How did it become not benuine?

    There was not problem until we tried MS Office 2010. After downloading the trial version, the 2003 edition became not genuine.

      Because you upgraded to 2010 by accepting the trial version. Once the trial version expired you needed to purchase a key from Microsoft to continue using the program. The key would make the program genuine.
