    what causes the check engine light to continuesly come on when the problem has been corrected

    try diconnecting the car batery and then and only then when all terminals are disconected hold the positive and the negative terminals firmly together for at least 2 minutes, this will hope fully reset the computer. a reputal mechanic taught me this trick. it worked on my car and should work on most cars with computers
    I've had the same thing happen in one of my cars (Betsy be her name!) My mechanic friend told me that the light itself was faulty, something to do with the wiring. Thus, nothing was really amiss, it's just a pain in the butt.
    maybe because it wasn't fixed in the first place.
