    why when flying at night some large planes have flashing red light?

    Ok, the answer in more detail. The external lights on aircraft fall into two general categories.When facing forward, from the perspective of the pilot, the light on the right wingtip is green while that of the left wing is red. The different colors make it possible for an out side observer, such as pilot of another aircraft to determine which direction the plane is flying.

    So as a pilots in other planes can see, who is also in sky, not crash.

    thanks,but i know that..some planes have steady lights and only a few have red flashing light what does that mean?
