Sanibel Island is due West of Fort Myers, Florida and has some of the best beaches in the United States and certainly the best shelling. Additionally, Sanibel does not allow any franchises, fast food chains, or tall structures. There are no street lights, many sand roads, and where you want to go and get away from the hustle and bustle!
