1 Turn on your Xbox 360. After a few seconds the machine will power up and the main menu will load. Open the "My Xbox" menu option.

2 Select "System Settings." Scan through the options in this window until you find and select "Network Settings."

3 Specify the way your Xbox 360 is connected to the Internet. If you are using a wired network, select "Wired Network." If you are using a wireless network, choose the name of your wireless network from the list on screen.

4 Select the "Test Xbox Live Connection" option. After you do this, you will be prompted to update your Xbox 360's operating software. Select "Yes." The update will be downloaded and installed.

5 Insert your Xbox game disc into your Xbox 360. The necessary software will install on your machine and the game will load the same way it would if you were playing on an original model Xbox.
