A four stroke engine runs on gasoline with oil added to a separate area.
A two stroke engine runs with oil ADDED to the gasoline.

There's a bit more to it than just oil. The 2-stroke engine completes its cycle in two revolutions but the 4-stroke makes 4 revs per cycle. Best to buy a book or google for info.
