    Ask Dad for the keys to the boat.    I believe the object of the sentence is Dad.  The subject is whomever is being told to ask Dad for the keys.  ASK is the predicate, and Dad is the object at the other end of the ASK.  "for the keys" and "to the boat" are prepositional phrases.
