No strong reason back then...it was the next logical step, I had no marketable skills (aside from typing), my parents (at least my mom) expected it, I was afraid to be "an adult". 

NOW, at 62, I'm in school because:  (1) I can't find even a part time job; (2) I have to get up and be somewhere at a specific time; (3) there are lots of things I'd like to learn; (4) I can!
