The term compatibility or incompatibility in computer terms means that the program that you are using is not compatible with the operating system that you are using. It also can also apply to hardware or software related. For example if you are using a 64 bit operating system some programs do not function with 64 bit they only work with a 32 bit operating system.
That is what usually causes BSOD (blue screen of death)
