Well they do use it for cats with feline HIV, known as FIV so it should help for an infection. I strongly recommend you speak to a vet though, especially since you say it's an unknown infection. We do not have veterinarians here so it really is best to have your cat checked out by a vet instead of taking advice from people who are not in the field of healing animals.
