They are similar since they both have to take the exact same board exam to become physicians and YES they are both medical doctors.One is quick at prescribing medications, the other more inclined to not so fast prescribe drugs using manipulation approach. The occupation is exactly the same, the tittle is used interchangeably. The majority of time your doctor is an osteopathic physician, you just do not know it.

Osteopaths are not doctors and do not have medical training.

do more research they r physicians matter of fact my family practitioner is a DO my cousin in Ohio, a cardiologist is a DO
This may well vary in different countries. In the country of my residency ostheopaths are not medical specialists, I think they have a bachelor degree in ostheopathy.
