A Net Book is a palm held computer, A Notebook and a Laptop  are one of the same. TOSHIBA  invented the Notebook and that is what they named it;  becuase it sat in your lap some bright spark decided to call it a Laptop. Flip is right about the Netbook not having a CD/DVD drive as it is too small for this capability.

A netbook usually doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. Most netbooks do not have a Full version operating system. Net books are usually slower than laptops.
