You need to connect your ipod touch to the internet and and then you can download things from the appstore through it. You can also create an itunes account through here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ Through itunes you can download music to your ipod.
If you have a simple ipod (not touch) then just plug it to the computer and move music to it from your computer.
