    how to check algebra problems on a caculator

    In algebra, you are often solving for the unknowns on either side of an equals sign. 
    When you have worked out what you think is the unknown's value, place it in the equation.  THEN, get your calculator and work one side of the equation and get a total.   Now, work the other side and see if you get the same total.  


    When you have a remaining unknown, take it out of your calculator work.  Work what you can and see if the answers are logical in their inequality.  You may be able to find the value of the unknown in this way!
