    Issued by President Lincoln, it essentially abolished slavery. 

    It abolished slavery in the southern states that suceded from the union. However, it only effected those states, it did nothing to those slave holding states that had stayed in the union, Missourri, Maryland, Delaware, and Kentucky. It was the 13th amendment that finally abolished slavery in the entire country in 1865,

    Brought slavery to an end;made the Civil War a war for freedom.

    It means some people would have to take their own garbage out each night instead of having some slaves do it.
