To search for files on an Apple computer, open Finder. Now, in the window at the top corner you'll see aa search bar. Type in what you're looking for. As you begin to type, you'll see a bar with options opening below, where you can select if you want the words you're typing in to be in the file's content, or the file name, and where to look for it (search the entire computer, just the documents folder, etc). If you click the + sign on the side of the options bar you'll see you can filter the search further.
