In order to uninstall a search engine press the 'Start' button, then open the 'Control Panel' and double click the option 'Programs and Properties' or "add/uninstall programs" then search for the program you wish to uninstall on the programs list, double click it and choose 'Uninstall'.
Internet explorer is a search engine. What you may have is an add on or extension on the internet explorer search engine. Click on Tools on the IE toolbar and look for add ons or extensions. You may find what you want to remove there.
